Loriann Gordon
After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with  a B.S. in Landscape Architecture in 1980 , Loriann went to work in San Francisco, first at EDAW, and then at the City and County of San Francisco.  While with The City Loriann worked on all manner of public spaces from the small intricate Chinatown pocket parks, to the largest public project in the City's history to that date, the Great Highway Seawall and Promenade.  Loriann is the landscape architect of record for this project, and her name can be found on the project plaque on the promenade.  During this period, Loriann completed her Associates degree in Construction Practices at San Francisco State University. (In 1986 Loriann went to Hong Kong where she worked on projects in Hong Kong and mainland China). Ms. Gordon moved to Hawaii in 1987 and opened her practice Loriann Gordon Landscape Architect (LGLA) in 1990.  She was the first landscape architect to complete the University of Hawaii's Graduate Certificate program in Historic Preservation where her thesis was the History of Landscape Architecture in Hawaii. While LGLA is known for excellence in design, practice is deeply experienced and practical.  LGLA's work includes public, private, commercial, hospitality, developer residential, luxury residential, institutional and historical properties.  In recognition of excellence in design Loriann Gordon Landscape Architect has received numerous design awards from the Federal Government, the Building Industry Association, Historic Hawaii Foundation, and the Hawaii Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
